Classification of Computer

 Following are the main classification of computer

On the basis of computer hardware history of development, we have classify it in generation. 

First Generation Computer 

This is oldest generation computer which had vacuum tube  and it was used in 1945. Germany can develop this but he could not because he was busy in world war and USA developed ENIAC. 

 

All calculation of hydrogen bomb on this computer. Full form of ENIAC is electronical numerical integrator and calculator. IBM 650 was high production electronic computer in 1950.

Second generation computer 

In second generation computer, transistors had used and which were made of semiconductor. It started from 1959. For example IBM Series 

Third Generation Computer 

It started from 1965 which has 100 of transistors on a single cristle. For example IBM 360 series

Fourth Generation computer 

It was worked with micro processor chips from 1971

Fifth Generation Computer 

In this generation, expert used super large scale integrator for personal computer. 

According to the Hardware Size

micro computer 

it has small hardware system . Very less processor for possessing power. One only user can work in home like pc.

MIN computer 

Which are bigger than micro computer have more processor and processing power

Macro Computer

 which is bigger than min compute and use many users

Super computer

which is used mainly institutional research. 

Classification of Computer on the Basis of Purpose

1. Analog Computer 

It is used only for signal

2. Digital Computer

This computer accepts the digits. So, this is accurate computer

3. Hybrid Computer

 Hybrid computer is combination of both analog and digital computer. 

For example Raddar is hybrid computer which finds the information of aeroplan in the sky.
